Terahertz Quantum and NanoTechnology Advancements (Tera-QuaNTA) Research Laboratory

@ Instrumentation and Applied Physics (IAP) Department, IISc Bengaluru.

Terahertz (THz) Quantum and NanoTechnology Advancements (Tera-QuaNTA) Research lab at IAP, IISc is primarily interested in investigating the ‘THz light-matter interactions’ at the ‘nanoscale’ to instigate and drive the new realm of ‘THz Quantum and Nanotechnology’. The research is being carried out in the broader aspects of terahertz science and technology domain with specific focus on ultrafast terahertz spectroscopy of low-dimensional quantum/topological materials and terahertz photonic/spintronic/polaritonic devices for various applications. We use state-of-the-art terahertz spectroscopic tools to drive, control and probe the various spin, charge and lattice degrees of freedom in the low-dimensional materials to study the strong/ultrastrong terahertz physics and ultrafast dynamics in the realm of cavity-QED and pump-probe experiments as well as to develop novel nonlinear, quantum and opto-electronic devices for societal applications.
