For about 2 years Tequa has presented their selves as a young entertaining acoustic band . Bluegrass as their mainstream the band also plays some old country and folk. While keeping some tradition they also add some modern flair and lots of entertainment.
Hailing form rural Northeast Kansas these brothers may not look it, but they’re actually triplets. Yes all born the same day. With Abe on bass, Bryce on percussion and banjo, and Coy on guitar. These boys love to play their music but living on a farm also takes time out the schedule. They love to fit gigs in wherever they can to have some fun.
These boys placed second in the Kansas State String Band competition in 2023 and 3rd in 2024 with their friend Ryan at Fid Pick. The band has been to festivals all the way from Wisconsin to Arkansas and have played at many festivals across Kansas.
Tequa pronounced(Teh-Qwaa) is a creek that runs along the family farm. The term is Native American for “peacful flowing river”.
