The Titans font is actually a variation of Crayfish AS font(part of the Crayfish font family developed by Andreas Seidel). If you look on MyFonts.com, you'll the the examples and the description that reads, "Crayfish is a slab serif display type originally designed for an American Football club".

From what I can see, the "S" in "TITANS" is slighlty different that the "S" in the font pack. Also the TITANS logo was customized in a tool like Adobe Illustrator, where a "Bridge" filter was applied, meaning the bottom of the letters in TITANS are slightly arched and the first and last letters (T and S) are larger than the other letters. This is a common element in many sports logos.

As far as "every other custom font" in the league? I wouldn't go that far. That being said? The custom fonts since the turn of the Millennium haven't wowed me. We have the Chargers' font, which looks like the designers were just trying too hard. The Browns' numbers, rise shadows and all, look ridiculous. The Bucs? Ahahahahahaha! The Jags? See the Chargers. The Vikings' font is too clever by a half, and may very well look dated in a few years.

I'm no fan of the excesses of 90s sports fashion, but I'll give the decade this. It produced some excellent custom fonts in the NFL. Yeah, you're always going to have people who just don't like the Eagles, Ravens, Steelers, Broncos, or Jags' custom fonts from the 1990s, but at least they were/are legible. I hated the Eagles' font for aesthetic reasons for the longest time. Now though? It's risen to the top of the NFL's collection of custom fonts. Aesthetics aside? It's just competently designed. Which is more than you can say about the vast majority of fonts Reebok or Nike have put out since the early 2000s.

These custom fonts are just another aspect of the overwrought Nike narratives behind these redesign. No element of the uniform can be spared in telling a brand story and these clubs fall hard for this nonsense. I can't wait until they toss out custom stitching or crotch zippers.

There is one good custom number font in the NFL: the Bears' font. Looking at all the top leagues, I can think of only the Cavs, the Cubs, the Blue Jays, and the baseball Giants. (If you want to include the Red Sox, the last wearers of a formerly widely-used standard font, fine.)

The colors remain exactly the same as before, which means that the team has kept its uniform color scheme of navy blue home uniforms, white away uniforms and baby blue alternate uniforms (which will also serve as the color of their Color Rush uniforms). The most distinctive part is undoubtedly the number font. Nike has not shied away from experimenting with unique number fonts for their teams, for better or worse. The experiments have continued here, as the Titans have gone with a number font that is completely unique to their identity.

Jason Wolf of The Tennessean reported that each outward-jutting notch on each number is meant to be a nod to the how the state of Tennessee is outlined. While this could be interpreted as "designer-speak" in order to justify this choice in number and font design, it's also one of those things that makes sense once it's explained to you.

The thin numbers are unique and not terrible, but I would prefer something thicker. Leading up to the reveal, I was hoping that the Titans would use the font that they use on their website and for all their promotional material as the number font on the uniforms. I think it's excellent. Not a big flaw but something I think would go along way in the overall look.

The Tennessee Titans logo font is a custom Tennessee Titans typeface. The Tennessee Titans font is used for jersey lettering, player names, numbers, team logo, branding, and merchandise. The Tennessee Titans font closely resembles the Crayfish AS font.

One thing, in particular, that I have noticed with Nike uniforms (particularly in college) of recent: anytime a team gets a uni (either new or tweak), the numbers are GIANT. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but giant numbers with these fonts are not good. Instead of trying to create unique fonts for each and every team (looking at you, WVU), they should stick with the standard, legible fonts that work well and have for years. Go crazy if you must on the colors and even different striping/elements, but at least keep the numbers somewhat normal and legible.

Titans new unis are worse than bad. Nike is hellbent on making professional franchises look less than professional. All of Nikes NFL redos have left teams with bad striping and ugly fonts. We have gotten progressively worse from the Bucs to the Browns to the Titans. I would be scared to let Nike touch my unis. THEY ALREADY RUINED THE NBA!

The actual font has also changed, giving it a sleeker, cleaner look than what the franchise had before. The Lions also made clear the franchise has a new look in their online team shop, as they began hawking sweatshirts and T-shirts with the logo and font changes Wednesday morning.

This may be a silly non-football question, but I'll ask it anyway. Last year the Patriots revealed their new "font "if you will, replacing the old Script logo here on the website and then in the end zones. I never saw any gear or merchandise for sale with that curved ,block style logo on it though. Will this year's new apparel etc. have the new Patriots logo on it and when?

Merchandise/apparel with the new logo and font is already on sale in the Patriots Pro Shop here at Gillette Stadium as well as online on Patriots.com! Go get yours now. And I'm sure even more such merchandise with the new look will be available moving forward.
