Tenlo — Privacy policy
Last updated: 2026-09-23
Tenlo is a browser extension that finds the videos on the page you are watching and saves them to your computer. To find them it needs to listen to the network requests of the pages you visit, on every website. This page explains what it does with that. It is the same notice the extension shows you, and asks you to accept, before it turns on.
What it keeps
· From the requests that may be a video — an HLS or DASH manifest, a segment, a video file —: their address, type and size, which tab they came from and when. Everything else the pages request (images, scripts, styles…) is not kept.
· The address of the page in each tab, to know where each video comes from.
· The text of the manifests it requests again when you open the list (see below).
· How your latest downloads are going — what is being downloaded and where it ended up — to show it to you.
· All of that lives in the browser's memory for this session: it is deleted when you close the browser, and also when you turn the extension off.
· Your settings (download folder, quality, language) are kept in your browser's storage for this extension. If you choose a folder of your own, the browser keeps the permission to write to it.
What it does with it
· When you open the list, it asks the website serving the video again for its manifests, with the session data your browser permits it to receive, to know which qualities there are. This may be the page itself or its CDN.
· It reads the tab's title to name the file.
· When you download one, it asks for the pieces of the video the same way the page does, and joins them into a file on your computer.
What it does not do
· It does not send your data to the author or to Tenlo services. There are no servers, accounts, analytics or advertising. It only makes the requests to the video's website or CDN explained above. Tenlo sends the author no data, and it neither sells nor shares it.
· It does not download DRM-protected content: it stops and tells you. It does not work on YouTube.
Tenlo's use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
If you choose to support Tenlo
Tenlo has a “Support Tenlo” link that opens Tenlo's page on Ko-fi (https://ko-fi.com/tenlo) in another tab, and only when you click it. Tenlo sends nothing when it opens or when you click, and it does not know whether you contributed. Contributing is voluntary and unlocks nothing.
If you contribute, Ko-fi and PayPal handle the payment under their own policies. The author, who receives the contribution as a private individual, gets the details they share: the name or username you enter, your email address and your message if you leave one, and from PayPal your name and email address. The author uses them only to handle your contribution and meet tax obligations, keeps them for as long as the law requires, and then deletes them. You can ask to see them or have them deleted at soporte.tenlo@gmail.com, and you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).
Deleting everything
Turning the extension off deletes what it had heard. Closing the browser deletes the session memory. Removing the extension deletes its settings.
Changes
If a future version listens to or keeps anything more, this page will say so, and the extension will turn itself off and ask for your consent again before it listens.

Qué no hace
