What is the Tribal Exchange Network Conference (TENC)?

The Tribal Exchange Network Conference aims to support and enhance tribal participation in the EPA Environmental Information Exchange Network through interactive sessions and information-sharing opportunities that foster connection and collaboration on data management, analysis, and sharing. This event provides the opportunity to highlight the successes and challenges of tribal environmental programs managing data using digital technology solutions. 

Who should attend TENC?

This event is designed for tribal staff and program managers that are collecting and communicating environmental data, particularly those seeking innovative technical solutions offered by the Exchange Network to streamline their work and enhance their data management capacity. Others who may benefit from participating in this event include: individuals serving in tribal leadership as decision-makers, tribal staff developing and/or supporting IT tools or systems including GIS and other geospatial systems, as well as public and private sector entities working to support tribal environmental programs.

Is there a fee to register for the conference?

No! There is no cost to register for this event. 

Will there be travel scholarships?

Yes, travel scholarships are limited and may be requested until September 16, 2022. More information can be found on the Scholarships page

What deadlines should I be aware of?

Will the sessions be recorded, or presentations made available after the event?

Yes, the sessions will be livestreamed via Zoom and recordings made available 1-2 weeks after the event concludes. Videos will be posted in the ITEP video library (Mediaspace) and the Tribes and the EN website

Do I need to bring a laptop?

Although not required, a laptop or mobile device equipped with wi-fi is helpful for accessing the virtual hub as an in-person attendee. There you will have access to the online help desk, presentations and other files, chat/online networking, and announcements. 

Attendees who are participating in workshop sessions or have mentoring appointments are also recommended to bring laptops equipped with wi-fi. Complimentary wireless internet and centrally located power supply stations will be available to all attendees during the event.

What if I am not able to attend or want to cancel my registration?

If you planned to attend the event in person, contact NEIEN@nau.edu as soon as possible notifying us of your cancellation.
