Similar to henna tattoos which are traditionally done for Indian weddings, jagua gel is a natural dye used to draw designs onto the skin with a cone.
Henna leaves behind a redish brown stain, but jagua gel dyes down to a pigmented black that has a blue-ish tint as your skin exfoliates. It's the perfect natual mix to get the look of a tattoo without the needles or the permanence!
Leave gel undisturbed to dry from 20-40 minutes. Survive the smudging danger zone! After ~20 minutes, the gel won't smudge when its touched or rubbed.
Aim to keep this layer of gel on your skin and completely dry for 2-6 hours. If your tattoo gets wet by accident, wash all the gel off so that the tatttoo doesn't smudge!
The longer you keep it on, the longer the tattoo will last. It's okay if the gel flakes off earlier, that just means your skin absorbed all that it could!
Wash the gel off with soap and warm or cold water. It's important to do this before bed to avoid the tattoo from smudging or transfering to other parts of your body.
Do not use hot water because it will stop the tattoo from becoming fully developed.
The tattoo will be very faded when you first wash it off. It will have a greyish-yellowish tint to it. The tattoo will darken over the next 24 hours and will last 1-2 weeks!
