TempleThadam ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information
when you use our mobile application.
1. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
a) Information you provide:
• Name and profile information (optional, stored locally on your device)
• Temple trip data and expense records (stored locally on your device)
• Temple visit plans and notes (stored locally on your device)
b) Information collected automatically:
• Location data (only when you grant permission, used to show nearby temples)
• Device information for app functionality
c) Firebase services:
• We use Google Firebase for authentication (optional Google Sign-In)
• Firebase Firestore to sync your trip plans across devices (if signed in)
• Firebase Remote Config for app configuration
We do not sell or share your Firebase data with third parties.
2. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use collected information to:
• Show temples near your location
• Sync your trip plans if you are signed in
• Provide personalized Panchangam based on your region
• Send daily temple reminders (local notifications only, no server involved)
3. DATA STORAGE
• Most app data (mantras, expense records, planner data, preferences) is stored
locally on your device only.
• If you sign in with Google, your trip plans may be synced via Firebase Firestore.
• We do not store personal data on our own servers.
4. THIRD-PARTY SERVICES
TempleThadam uses the following third-party services:
• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Remote Config)
• Google Maps / MapLibre (temple location display)
• YouTube Data API (temple videos — subject to YouTube's Privacy Policy)
• Nominatim / OpenStreetMap (location search — no personal data sent)
• Google ML Kit (on-device language translation — no data leaves your device)
5. LOCATION PERMISSION
Location access is used only to show temples near you. We do not track your
location in the background. Location data is never sent to our servers.
6. NOTIFICATIONS
Daily reminders and trip alerts are generated locally on your device using
Android's AlarmManager. We do not use any push notification servers.
7. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
TempleThadam does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
8. YOUR RIGHTS
You may:
• Delete your account and all associated data at any time from the app
• Clear local data by uninstalling the app
• Revoke location permission at any time in your device settings
9. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Continued use of the app after
changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
