OVERVIEW: Raised by a secretive group known only as the I.E., Celia is a well regarded assassin who specializes in melee combat. She is tough and cold, but harbors a softer side for those she truly cares about.
Born and raised initially on the east coast of the United States, Celia spent the first 7 years of her life living happily with two scientist parents, Anh and Roger Clarke. The couple were completely normal by all accounts, working for a secret society that, on Celia’s 5th birthday, relocated the small family to a compound in which they could work more closely with other employees of the group.
Over the next two years, the group began to evolve, more sinister in their designs towards the outside world. It began to concern Anh and Roger, who whispered of plans to take their young daughter and leave, hoping their plotting might go unnoticed by Roger’s older brother and director of their project, Forrest.
These goals would never be realized, as just before Celia’s 7th birthday, her parents were taken to the medical wing for an illness which they would not recover from.
Forrest took his niece under his wing shortly thereafter, encouraging her to move forward through martial art lessons that she had begun with her mother. Throwing herself into the practice, Celia quickly gained notoriety within the group for her angry, isolated nature and the fierceness she displayed in the gym, especially noted by the destruction wreaked on the practice equipment or sparring partners.
Over time, she began to bond with two other girls within the compound, Ona and Cassie. Although there were many instances of those who chose to go up against Celia finding themselves in the medical ward, Ona and Cassie were always spared the brunt of her violence, sticking together. While Ona matched Celia blow for blow in nearly every duel, Cassie lagged behind the other girls, not from weakness but compassion. The last thing she wished for was to hurt anyone.
When the girls were on the cusp of adolescence, Ona and Celia began to worry for Cassie, whom they then considered a younger sister. Slowly they formulated a plan to free her from the grasp of the group, and soon, set it into motion.
Fire alarms were activated, smoke began to fill the halls of the compound, and Ona successfully took Cassie away, where she would never be forced to hurt anyone again. Ona was found weeks later, returned to the compound, and slowly isolated from Celia, leaving the teenage girl alone once again.
When the smoke cleared, both literally and figuratively, Ona and Cassie were gone, and Celia was found in a small storage room with a dead body; another orphan of the group, and one known specifically for his cruelty.
It would be easy enough to make the assault appear as an accident- as it was, many were eager to dismiss the incident as self defense, provoked by the boy’s continuous insistence that blame for the death of Roger and Anh Clarke lay solely at their daughter’s feet even before the incident. Following this incident, those who had been training alongside Celia were filtered out of the program, leaving her entirely by herself.
Celia never spoke of the murder to anyone, providing no details as to how or why she had chosen to kill the boy, though she was found by a newer member of the group, Adrian Pierce, with whom she quickly bonded and developed a bother-sister-like relationship.
As time passed, Celia was groomed to become an assassin for the group, leaving for her first mission at the age of 16 and continuing, with Pierce as an escort, for nearly 8 years before attempting to escape.
Eventually, Celia ran, her ‘responsibilities’ too much to bear; excising the tracking chip she had learned of only months before, she escaped in much the same way her sisters had so many years before.
Managing to survive on her own for the better part of 6 months, Celia concealed herself among those who shared her fate, and it wasn't until the death of one particularly dirty cop who had terrorized her and those she called her 'friends' that someone finally took notice of her.
He introduced himself as David Anders, a name she would know him as for the following years in spite of how clear a mask it was. Somehow he had learned of her involvement in the sudden death of her terrorizer and chose to approach her with a simple offer: that of a partnership.
Gradually Celia made her way following the whims of others, working under David's guidance, another collar around her throat, to take up contracts for the lives of others. For nearly 6 years they worked together, taking whatever jobs the black market would offer, ranging anywhere from assassinations to theft of items both large and small.

Current Arc: Lone Mercenary / Assassin, depending on your point of view. Current canon for in betweens are fluid. I’m happy to plot out long term things as well!
WIP:
Celia’s mother is originally from Harmony and moved to one of the other planets to pursue her interest in science. Forrest was an IMC defector. he originally fled to Solace, where he met Celia’s mother, and then later on, when her adoptive parents are killed, he moves them to Gaea.
Forrest raises Celia from the age of 7 to be an elite assassin, using her to work for him on Gaea where he is a local leader in the GGTF and basically a warlord.
He is eventually found out for stealing from the Task Force, and subsequently flees with Celia to join the Syndicate, where he is embraced for his intricate knowledge of a variety of human enhancements, as well as his prodigal apprentice.
She escapes and begins to work on her own, particularly in the Fringe Planets against the Syndicate, specifically targeting and using a source within to mess up Forrest’s plans.
Ultimately, she is caught and sentenced to the Apex Games privately, but appearing to join willingly.
Raised by a secretive business man following her parents’ sudden demise, Celia grew up exposed to all of the newest innovations in cyberware while being trained by some of the best military operators of the time. Upon reaching the age of 16, Celia was dispatched to ‘take care of’ a particular threat to the company. And so began her bloody history.
When she was 24, Celia broke free from Forrest’s control and fled the labs, becoming a mercenary for the better part of 15 years and working her way through the ranks of her competition.

Born 9:18 in Antiva and orphaned at the age of 7, Celia never thought twice of how quickly Forrest Clarke had swept in to bring her under the Crows' wing. Although her 'Uncle' was not a member of the Crows but a strategist tangled in their threads, Celia was raised like any other Crow child: primed for a life of riches and blood.
The latter would come much later however, after Celia had begun showing magical prowess and understanding the manipulations of her 'Uncle' Forrest. Although it had taken more than 15 years, she sought to escape the confines of Forrest's control and ultimately killed him using blood magic.
After killing her mentor, Celia fled Antiva to a chaotic Kirkwall so she might find some semblance of peace. None was to be found, as chaos had erupted only a few years prior. Rather than turn to the South to help with the Inquisition's goals, Celia instead moved into the Free Marches where she would find and depose a Mercenary Leader, taking his position for a number of years.
When reality began to tear apart and the world seemed doomed, Celia finally sought out and offered herself and her mercenaries to Rook for support in the battles to come.

A former Courser in the Institute, Celia was trained as a female synth courser before Chase’s betrayal and, afterwards, was restricted to duties within the Institute. Over time, it became clear how dangerous her growing sentience was, and C5 decided to take her chances outside of the underground technological haven.
With little knowledge of the wasteland and no time to waste, C5-10 teleported to the surface, intent on removing the chip that tracked her movement as soon as possible. Unfortunately, her plans were interrupted by her sudden appearance before a raider gang, not far from their headquarters.
Though initially presumed to be an attacker, Celia fought off several of the raiders before demanding that, should the battle continue, their leader come out and face her. The gang’s leader, assuming that she was a regular synth, gladly did so - and thus met his death.
The shock of their leader’s demise made the raiders pause, which Celia swiftly took advantage of, declaring herself the new leader of the gang and killing those who challenged her.
Born to the Big Empty, a wasteland scientist mother discarded by Think Tank in favor of a new subject: one they could raise all their own.
For years, Celia was ‘raised’ by the think tanks, often either left to her own devices or being forced to undergo numerous invasive procedures to enhance her body and mind.
At the age of 13, Celia learned of the world beyond Big Mountain through the discovery of the radar fence and, inadvertently, the teleportation module connected to a satellite above the Mojave.
Searching the grounds of what was once Hopeville, she eventually discovered a terminal connected to the orbital path of the satellite and its emergency thrusters. Gaining access was hardly difficult, and once she was in, the satellite was instructed to divert itself back down to Earth, where it would crash at the Mojave Drive-In.
As soon as she was able, Celia connected to the teleportation relay and left the Big Empty, traveling to the Mojave, where she would survive thanks to harsh lessons learned from the Lobotomite-infested grounds.
Years passed quickly, and Celia would grow to become a well-known Mercenary, offering her abilities at a cost, profiting off of the cutthroat culture of New Vegas and the bloodthirst of all those who live there.
This verse takes place while Celia is still under Forrest’s thumb, doing the i.e.’s bidding in her early twenties.
Sent under the guise of being sent by the FBI, Celia rode along on the trip to arrest Joseph Seed. She escapes along with the Deputy, although they are separated shortly thereafter.
Celia is reunited with the Deputy in Fall’s End, where she had been preparing to assault the cult’s forces holding it captive. She would remain by the Deputy’s side until the final Hunt by John Seed’s Chosen, wherein she suddenly turns on the Deputy, knocking them unconscious for collection by the others.
Adhering closely to the main modern timeline. Having long since escaped the group, Celia has since made a name for herself as a high-profile, faceless assassin hired primarily as a last resort for those who wish their enemies off the board. Operating under anonymity, she maintains a high-class lifestyle, living boldly under her own given name, a sharp 'fuck you' directed to those who had attempted to mold her into a weapon of their own.
Born in 2150 to two scientist parents working on the Prothean technology that had been discovered just a few years prior, Celia Clarke was raised on Mars alongside her parents and uncle, Forrest Clarke. When she was only 5 years old, there was an accident during which power on the base was lost for just a few minutes - long enough to leave Celia unconscious and her parents, along with a good number of other scientists, dead. Forrest was quick to take Celia in as his own, bringing her back to Earth and raising her for another two years… Until the First Contact War broke out.
Forrest followed the news closely, and when peace was finally brokered, expressed distrust of the newly introduced alien races. His opinions quickly garnered attention - most notably from the Political Party known as Terra Firma, who sought financial donations from the prestigious scientist. This connection would prove to be vital to Forrest’s career development, directly targeted by Cerberus upon its formation. And as her Uncle followed within the shadow of Cerberus, so, too, did Celia.
For 10 years, Celia continued to follow Forrest’s instruction, learning as much as she could at all times and following a rigorous routine, now enforced by Cerberus in a small facility on a small world within reach of the Mass Relays. As time passed, her tasks became more and more discreet - and more and more dangerous. It was only when she reached 18 that the truth of her situation became abundantly clear - she needed to leave.

Fleeing to Omega, Celia quickly worked her way up through the ranks of Aria's enforcers.

the i.e. was an experimental facility for inhuman creatures, and Celia was raised to help capture them. She has been experimented on but eventually escaped, as in her canon. she is both hunter and monster, trying to live as if neither.
It is unknown when the pirate known as Lady Death first appeared on the seas, nor where she came from originally. All that is truly known is that the ship of a minor privateer, the Lady’s Breath, disappeared, and was later allegedly spotted by a former crewmate under the name ‘Death’s Grace’.
Among her crew are Cisco- her first mate- and Laura.
A force sensitive hidden away from the massacre of the Younglings, Celia was raised from the age of 7 by Forrest Clarke, a former Jedi who sought power of his own.
Nearly a decade after the fall of the Republic, Forrest saw his opportunity- and offered Celia as an Inquisitor candidate. Although younger than the other Inquisitors, she began a new training regimen under those she would join, proving herself as a very real threat to the Jedi who remained.
Forrest was killed for his treasonous act of hiding Celia, but she was taken into the arms of the Empire.
Living with her parents in an Umbrella live-in compound, Celia was raised for seven years within the structure of Umbrella. Her parents would learn of the more nefarious purposes planned for Umbrella's experiments and Celia’s Uncle, Forrest, ultimately discovered this and killed them, taking Celia under his own care.
In the same year, Forrest, having worked with Alexia Ashford under Umbrella before her 'death', located a copy of the T-Veronica virus that allowed him to begin experimentation upon a variety of subjects. Keeping this sample secret, Forrest secluded himself, effectively resigning from Umbrella Corp to focus on his research.
Growing frustrated with his lack of results due to the low transmission rates, and discovering documentation of Alexia’s own plan, Forrest began to slowly introduce the virus to Celia’s body through planned tissue grafts.
Results were slowgoing, and Forrest continued his experiments on other subject for the following years, until Celia reached teenagehood.
At this point, as *superhuman traits* manifested, experimentation on Celia increased tenfold, until, at 17, she escaped Forrest’s bunker and fled.
Following her escape from the bunker in which Forrest hid, Celia crafted a new identity for herself, pursuing a GED in the United States and continuing her training in a variety of martial arts in private.
However, only months later, the Racoon City Destruction would occur, with Celia watching in horror as Cannibal Disease took hold on the city and, ultimately, was unleashed upon the world.
She would not approached the BSAA (or any other bioterrorism group) until 2005, when she believed she was being followed by a former ally.

after hunting down Barrett as a favor for some debt he walked out on; ended up finding him on the trail to an artifact and investigated it herself.
Born in the 1880s, Celia was initially adopted by a couple shortly after, brought to Europe to live with her parents in a secure, science-focused facility which dabbled in medicinal studies.
There she was raised for a number of years before her parents’ untimely deaths, at which point her ‘uncle’ took over her care.
Rather than truly caring for her, however, the man would perform experiments exploring the furthest reaches of discovery for the modern age, and, towards the end, dabbling in the occult.
When Celia finally ran, finding herself alone in the wilderness, she would quickly fall asleep and dream of wreaking revenge upon the man who had raised her so cruelly.
So it was, then, when she passed in her sleep, cold and alone… and remained in the Dreaming
Raised in a government facility which would eventually engineer the apocalypse, Celia escaped in her early twenties and managed to live out her life for a solid decade before the end times came.
Though she is unaware that her father figure, Forrest, is responsible for the undead hordes shambling across the world, Celia is certain that he has something to do with it. But upon her return, she finds the facility empty - and all records burned.
Now doing her best to survive, Celia was recently separated from the group she had assembled with Laura after an attack and destruction of their shelter.
She seeks her friend, uncertain if she is even still alive.
Similar to her Marvel Verse, this verse is a branch off of her main modern timeline, wherein Celia is caught following the murder of David Anders.
Once she is recognized for the numerous crimes she had committed, she is transferred to Belle Reve and becomes a candidate for the Suicide Squad.
