Teaching & Mentoring

I have been a teaching fellow for a number of courses in psychology and philosophy. I have especially enjoyed teaching lab sessions for methodology and statistics courses.

I believe that acknowledging and leveraging diversity in students' experiences and ideas, while trusting their abilities, leads to meaningful teaching and learning experiences, and I have tried to live up to this belief in my teaching and mentoring experiences.

I have mentored a number of domestic and international research assistants who have continued to follow exciting paths in academia or in other settings. Two of my most recent mentees will be pursuing PhDs in developmental psychology at Harvard University and UC Riverside in Fall 2018.

I also periodically mentor young researchers from underrepresented communities and voluntarily serve as their project advisor for completing research projects related to my research interests and expertise.

At Gallup, I mentor data analyst associates in their journey to learn about Gallup data and to start working with large-scale survey datasets.
