Khagolvani is an astronomy and space science outreach initiative, led by the Department of SPASE, IIT Kanpur, is among only thirteen projects worldwide selected for support by the International Astronomical Union – Office of Astronomy for Development (IAU-OAD). The aim is to bring hands-on astronomy education to children from underprivileged communities, inspiring curiosity about the universe.

Inspired by the belief that the Sky is Open to All, Khagolvani introduces Astronomy to underprivileged school children, sparking curiosity and love for science. 

 The main objectives of this initiative are:

• Spark interest in STEM through interactive astronomy workshops and hands-on sessions in schools.

• Host stargazing events for students and local communities to foster critical thinking and dispel superstitions.

• Provide telescopes and astronomy-related activity materials to establish astronomy and science clubs in each school.
