Tehila Nugiel

Starting Fall 2023, I will be joining Florida State University as an Assistant Professor in Psychology and Neuroscience, where I will start up my lab. I'll be hiring a lab manager and recruiting graduate students (to start in Fall 2024). If  you're interested in brain development, cognitive control, developmental difficulties, reading, math, ADHD, or any combination of the above get in touch!

I am currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Cohen Lab at UNC Chapel Hill directed by Dr. Jessica Cohen and the Carolina Institute for Developmental Disabilities. I got my PhD at The University of Texas at Austin where I worked with Dr. Jessica Church in the Developmental Cognitive Neuroscience Lab.

Broadly, my research surrounds the question “how can we better identify and treat children with developmental difficulties in order to improve academic and mental health outcomes? To answer this question, I use cognitive neuroscience tools to investigate brain function in children with common developmental difficulties. Populations in my research include children with reading difficulties, English as a second language, and attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). My research leverages a multimodal approach combining across fMRI and network science, as well as across clinical, neuropsychological, and behavioral methods.
