Our club values its leadership to the utmost level of respect as we continue our mission of breast cancer education and awareness. We do not require any experience in order to join our leadership or our club, only enthusiasm to partake in community outreach both at our university and our local high schools.
Brittany Clary
Brittany Clary is a rising senior majoring in Genetics and Genomics with a minor in Public Health at UC Davis. As a pre-medicine student with experience in various units, her passions lie in community outreach and education. Both her mother and grandmother are two-time survivors of breast cancer, creating a strong sense of determination to advocate for early breast cancer screening and awareness of the topic. In her free time, you can find our president hiking, performing stand-up comedy, or getting ready for her next concert!
Jesus Baustain
Jesus Baustain is a rising senior with a Global Disease Biology major. He plans to become a doctor to care for others during their most vulnerable times and bring hope to them and their families. He is also a part of the Event Leadership Team of the American Cancer Society Club and does research on cervical cancer at the Fejerman Lab on campus. For fun, he enjoys camping, traveling, and visiting new places with friends.
Melanie Gallegos-Campos
Melanie Gallegos-Campos is a rising senior with a Global Disease Biology major. She is pursuing a career in the medical field and hope to provide culturally informed care to underserved communities. Melanie also serves on the Event Leadership Team of the American Cancer Society Club on campus. In their free time, she enjoys volunteering, reading, and spending time with friends and family.
Sun'I Brown
Sun’I Brown is a freshman currently as an undecided life sciences major. She hopes to pursue a career in healthcare to serve and improve the lives of others. For fun, she likes to bake, listen to music, and travel.
Sarah Biertuempfel
Sarah Biertuempfel is a junior at UC Davis majoring in biological sciences and minoring in psychology. She is pursuing a career in research, possibly in genetics. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, going to sporting events, and spending time with friends and family.

Catherine Nguyen
Catherine is a first-year Biological Sciences Major from SoCal. Outside of Teens for Screens, she enjoys activities, like volleyball, making food, hiking, and crafts. Her enthusiasm involves the spread of breast cancer awareness as well as learning more about breast cancer at T4S!
Laura Martinez
Laura is a senior at UC Davis majoring in cell biology and minoring in Chicano studies. She is pursuing a career in medicine to help and give back to underserved communities. Outside of academics, she enjoys reading, traveling, and going to concerts!
Zara Imran
Zara Imran is a Sophomore with a Neurobiology, Physiology, and Biology Major. She is pursuing a career in the medical field and is determined to provide educated and informed care to underserved communities. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, volunteering, and spending time with her friends and family.
Amanda Corpuz
Amanda Corpuz is a second year studying Biotechnology and working towards a minor in Chicanx studies at UC Davis. Although she is not yet sure what she wants to do after graduating, she is interested in cancer research and is passionate about helping others. In her free time, she enjoys crocheting, baking, and spending time with friends and family.
Dr. Laura Fejerman
Dr. Fejerman has been performing research at our Genome Center here at UC Davis & has worked directly with the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Her work primarily involves the discovery of breast cancer risk-associated genetic variants with focus on the Indigenous American component of ancestry, the development of a breast cancer polygenic risk scores for Hispanic/Latina women, and exploration of breast cancer gene expression patterns in women of Indigenous American ancestry. She is additionally one of the lead co-founders of Teens for Screens at UCSF, UCD, and UCLA.
