What We Do
YALSA brings together key stakeholders from the areas of libraries, education, research, out of school time, youth development and more to develop and deliver resources to libraries that expand their capacity to support teen learning and enrichment and to foster healthy communities.
Allows users to search for books appropriate for teens ages 12 to 18. The database gives information about the books so that teachers, librarians, readers, and parents can decide on which books are the best feed for their wants and needs.
Common Sense Media contains a database of book reviews. Parents, teachers, and librarians can use this site as a resource for appropriate literature. Each review contains content warnings, recommended age group, and a section called "What Parents Need to Know," which further details the book's content.
This is a youth services librarian toolbox from School Library Journal that offers multiple sites for users to view library programming services and ideas.
Library Journal offers young adult book reviews as well as quick reference lists such as Best Books of 2017 as well as more specialized, fun lists like 35 Going on 13: Angelina Benedetti Offers Some Cheeky Bests.
