The Teen Mental Initiative (TMHI) is a Wholistic Health Alliance Youth Brigade project. It is a student-led initiative dedicated to raising awareness on the subject of teenager’s mental health issues and subsequently taking action to mitigate the occurrence of those issues. It was founded by students, for students. Our goal is to ultimately create a world where teenagers no longer suffer from mental health illnesses or issues.
We achieve this through two campaigns within the initiative, the Awareness Campaign and the Action Campaign. The Awareness Campaign sheds light on the state of teen’s mental health in the USA and across the world, in the hopes of changing attitudes and creating positive reform. Within the Awareness Campaign are the Social Media and Blog Post groups, which both work in tandem to achieve what the Awareness Campaign has set out to accomplish. Secondly, the Action Campaign contains the Community Reform Group, School Reform Group, and Organization Partnership Group. As the name implies, these three groups strive to proactively improve the environment of teen’s lives, in an effort to mitigate the chances of mental health issues arising for volatile youth of this age.
