The task will be to build your own eco-friendly home. You must make the constructive design of an ecological house, following the parameters explained in class and the attached resources. The points you have to follow:
1. Our house will be located in Cantabria. The avarage temperature is around 14º and in summer 21º. On the coast it rains an avarage of 1200 mm per year. Frequently the wind is usually from the north and strong.
Bioclimatic design: the windows must be located looking to the south because in winter it gives you more heat and if you have heat in summer you can put an awning. We must use ecological materials produced in the enviroment. We can also put ventilation with heat recovery, a good termal insulation and finally solar panels.
2. We must use materials according with the climate of Cantabria. For the pillars we can use clay, for the slabs and the roof we can use stones and for the beams wood . We use this materials because are all extracted from the enviroment and is better than use materials of man-made.
3. The walls can be build of stone because is a good material to keep the temperatures of the houses and for the insulation we have thought about the cork beause is a natural material extracted of the enviroment.
4. For wall covering we can use cast, for the floor and ceiling we can use wood and clay, for enclosures we can use blocks of soil and for the foundations we can use clay.
5. We can use solar panels because is the simplest way to generate water, electricity and heating.
6. This is a schematic drawing that shows how we would recycle wastewater and rainwater.
7. The house that we found is located in Guriezo. It is a house of two floors built of wood and has a mechanical ventilation system for heating the housing without the need for a heating system.
