Predominance of Englishes

The emergence of so-called Englishes will serve to reinforce the predominance of British or American English as a lingua franca.

There will be benefits with the reinforcement to the prevalence of British and American ELF strengthened by the emergence of Englishes.

First, we may have a lasting LF fulfilling the need of a common global method of communication. English as an assisting language for domestic communication purposes, under the countries educational rules, and sociocultural contexts, call for policies. No one organization defines and prescribes actions. Thus, the appearance of Englishes will provide an environment to strengthen the control of British and American English as a LF.

Though I realize that local benefits decrease, I feel that this is the best direction for several reasons. Sensible issues such as correctness and clarity justified the use of English in domestic and international contexts. These issues raised the need to observe concepts of regional Englishes worldwide.

Second, it is not hard to expect that English as LF will hold its leading existence. World Englishes relates to the diverse multiplicity which emerged in several spaces around the world. The scope classified in three groups: ENL, ESL, and EFL. This classification is for linguistic pluralism. As a simple observation of a scenario it does not present solution for a result in the foundation of a global LF.

Then, the purpose of a language is to communicate. LF does it globally. World English occurs in global activities resembling diplomacy, business and education. Global English emerged due to globalization, which resulted in an increase of the use of English as LF.

Finally, the ability to speak the same language enabled men to work together. The Book of Genesis exemplifies the power a unique speech holds. Peculiar forms of languages ​​to social groups experiencing contact with a more dominant society, become influenced by waves of norms, and these regulations invade their communication structure.
