I've been on the Internet since 1991.

Given how toxic and divisive social media has become, for my own mental health I've decided to take a step back and simplify my online life, making it better reflect my interests and personality and deliberately evoking a better, bygone Internet age.  I prefer the time of blogs and honest communication before disinformation, Facebook, and unqualified talking heads took hold.  I'm not one to pine for earlier times, necessarily, but sometimes by looking backward one can appreciate how off the rails some aspects of online life have become.
