Hello Techy Teachers! I am so glad to meet you đŸ˜€ As you know, one of the best parts of teaching is learning from each other. I share widely and have put this website together with some of my best presentations and resources for you to enjoy. I also hope that when you are creating awesomeness for your class you share it with me and your Professional Learning Community. You can reach me on Twitter @KristanMorales1
I've been a High School Math Teacher for over 25 years now and 8 years ago I earned my Masters Degree in Educational Technology. Since then, my teacher tech tool belt has grown immensely as I continue to find new ways to engage students and encourage classroom collaboration. Additionally, I am the tech coach for my High School and have the extraordinary opportunity to work and create projects with teachers of all disciplines using technology.
In 2021 and 2022 I was Chaparral High School Teacher of the Year, Temecula Valley Unified Teacher of the Year, Riverside County Teacher of the Year and CA State Teacher of the Year finalist. What an honor to be recognized as one of California's top 11 teachers! To find out more about my Teacher of the Year experience check out the my video and essays on the teacher of the year tab!
I am also a mom of three kids: my oldest is in college and my other two are in High School. As a parent I have seen education for my own three kids evolve over time. I have learned so much from their teachers at all grade levels. I am always amazed at how creative teachers are in delivering curriculum resources to their students and when I see a good idea, I adapt it for use in my Math Classroom.
Some of my other accomplishments include: 2022 CA Teacher of the Year Finalist, 2022 Riverside County Teacher of the Year, 2021 Temecula Unified Teacher of the Year, CUE Rockstar Faculty, CUE Conference Planning Committee, CUE Conference Volunteer Coordinator, Instructional Leadership Corps Professional Development Provider with CTA and Stanford University, CTA Ambassador to CA Math Council, CA Partnership for Math and Science Education, Southwest Riverside County Think Tank Facilitator for Institute for Teaching, Temecula Valley Educators Association Instruction and Professional Development Chair.
