Luigi's Mansion is a 2001 Gamecube launch title by Nintendo. While this game quite straightforward and very difficult to get lost in there is so many hidden ways to get money in order to get the best ending. If you don't use a single speedy spirit, golden cheese, mouse hole, or hidden room, it is impossible to get the best ending! This guide will show you how to get any of the secrets and is a great guide for someone who needs a guide down the path. (If I missed something, send a suggestion about it.)

Area 0

When you first start the game you will receive a cutscene.

Once you enter the game you should use this chance to figure out the controls. While the game is fairly straightforward without the knowledge you will miss so many opportunities, and even secret bosses and rooms and to get some of these you need to 'get gud.' So let's start with this! While only the things in green will affect you now it's a good idea to memorize the rest.

Now that you got that down, go upstairs and open the middle doors. You will then hear a laugh from back downstairs, so do what any horror story character would do and walk downstairs to investigate the strange noise.

After that happens. Grab the key(LOOK AT ME I GOT A KEY!) and use this key to open the upstairs doors. And now MORE CUTSCENE!! YAY!!

After all that, you now have your Poltergust 3000 and GameBoy Horror! Now you can use the Red part of the controls!

To capture ghosts hold B to keep your flashlight off and then once the ghost is within range let go of B to flash your flashlight with it and now that it's stunned hold R at it and hold that stick as hard as you can in the opposite direction. From there on it's a game of Tug of War where your pulling it back while it tries to escape.

At this point you will have a choice between Standard and Sidestep controls. DO NOT CHOOSE SIDESTEP! Sidestep will make the game play like your capture a ghost at all time.
