Philosophy
Educators and students alike need the ISTE Standards not just for the present educational environment in which we find ourselves teaching during this epidemic, but also for the educational future. This website explains the expectations for students and educators, and coaches as well as how to execute these standards and other considerations when utilizing technology in education. A hybrid association between living and learning is achieved via the use of technology, which empowers students and prepares them for the future employment. Every kid has at least one device at home, so we're combining the two to teach them how they can study while having fun with it.
Even though most schools are moving toward a more technologically oriented curriculum, educators must maintain a focus on both ISTE and academic standards, as well as how to combine the two to foster both academic and technology advancement. Students who learn in this manner become global citizens who can cooperate and communicate with mutual respect while adhering to the rules of law. Educators may do this by constantly modeling. Teaching students how to properly utilize technology does not need a discrete block of time in the classroom; rather, it is something that should be done constantly across all subject areas.
Educators may use this presentation to discuss what standards they are accountable for practicing and what standards they are responsible for ensuring that students learn. Using technology, such as Google Classroom, is one option for incorporating these requirements. Many schools that provide online or hybrid education are using these internet-based platforms for teaching and evaluation. Using platforms like Near-pod and others, it is now possible to diversify instruction and evaluations in a variety of ways.
Teaching instructors how to utilize the most efficient and effective technological tools and how to develop and support technologically rich settings for engaging students in real problem-solving will enhance teaching and education. Teachers and students benefit more from long-term, continuous, content-specific, collaborative assistance, such as that given through a coaching relationship, than from one-time professional development seminars (Ehsanipour, 2017). Technology plays a major role in each one of our lives. Whether we are aware of this or not, we as a people encounter some type of technology every day. Whether it be cell phones, computers, smart boards, printers, projectors, or the television, technology is literally everywhere. It is my duty as a teacher to have my students prepared to take on the world of technology and "fingertip accessible" information. It is my duty to teach them the proper way to use technology and how it can benefit their futures and careers in a positive way. In this website, my main goal is to show the research that has been pulled from various sources, and then come to my own conclusion on my feelings about technology in the classroom. Technology is ever-growing and has such great un-tapped potential. New apps, ideas, and software are arriving everyday and it is our job as educators and coaches to be engaged, prepared, and excited about the world of technology at our student's fingertips.
