Zoom is a very powerful tool for online meetings since it provides you with all the accessories you need such, as sharing your screen, simultaneous speeches that support real-time conversations and you can actually see who is online and has joined your meeting.
Assuming you have logged in successfully, the home page has a number of tools that you will need to get on with to become a pro in zoom meetings. From the left, you can share your screen, schedule a meeting, join a meeting and create a new meeting.
To set up a meeting, click on the “New Meeting” button on your right-hand side.
In the new window that appears, you will be prompted to change your meeting settings such as, deciding whether to leave the video on or off and if you want to use your personal meeting ID or not.
After setting up those few changes, below there is the “Start meeting” button. The moment you click on it, zoom will load the meeting screen.
This way of setting up zoom meetings is used for instant meetings, let’s see below how you can schedule a meeting and allow time for members to join into your meeting.
Scheduling a meeting helps you to set up a meeting and allow other members to join in before time. You can schedule a concurrent meeting that will happen on specific days and let other users have that link whenever it’s time for that meeting.
Click on the schedule meeting button for a new window to appear.
At the top, input your meeting title. The title can be anything your meeting is going to be centered on such as, “End of year meeting” “Last class meeting” etc, the choice is yours.
Schedule the start time, date, and end time of your meeting.
If it’s a repetitive meeting, change the never option to every day, every week, or month depending on your choice of meeting.
After customizing a few settings for your meeting, click on Done, at the top right corner of the screen to save your changes.
On the new screen, you will be prompted to either start the meeting when it is time, or invite members to join your meeting by sharing the Link meeting ID and Passcode.
You are done with setting up your first meeting, congratulations.
Join a meeting.
Zoom allows members to join in an already scheduled meeting. Click the “Join meeting” button from the home screen.
In the next window, fill in the meeting ID and click on join. You will be prompted to provide a valid passcode for the meeting you are interested in before you are granted access.
Alternatively, you can follow the meeting link shared with you and follow the prompts.
