"Thank you so much - [we] loved having a way to take photos. Kids felt super 'cool' having 'phones' to use! Great motivator and engager for learning, kids also loved using tech that was preloved and enviro impacts." - Debbie, Yr 4/5 teacher, Goodwood School
"I can see these being a great digital diary for my students... they can come back and present their experiences in a format they choose" - Jacqui, Yr 5/6 teacher, Fairfield Primary
"The phones are smaller and easier to use than an ipad. Most students have experience using a phone, and were definitely keen to use them." - Renae, Yr 5/6 teacher, Cambridge East Primary
Why use smartphones in schools?
Cool & easy to use. Smartphones are incredibly powerful and child-friendly devices. Plus, kids love them!
Equity. Schools struggle to provide devices for every child; this is not a bad thing (sharing is great!) but it can limit class activities. By using smartphones, we can improve access to tech & Internet.
Portability - have you ever tried taking photos with a laptop?!
Sustainability - most phones are used for only 3 years 😲, before being recycled, or thrown in the rubbish. This is a massive waste of energy and resources. The best thing we can do is extend the life of our phones.
