Welcome to Tech Tycoon — a strategic board game about building and managing a tech empire! You'll invest in startups, explore cutting-edge technologies, overcome market threats, and earn TechCoins to become the ultimate tech mogul.
Become the richest and most influential player on the board through smart investments, property development, and resource management.
- Game board featuring technology sectors (AI, Blockchain, Quantum, etc.)
- Property Cards
- Event Cards
- Currency: TechCoin (TC)
- Player tokens
- Two six-sided dice
- Game rules (this document)
1. Place the game board on a flat surface.
2. Each player selects a token and places it on the START square.
3. Shuffle the Event Cards and place them in the designated area on the board.
4. Distribute starting capital to each player (e.g., 1500 TC).
5. Determine the first player by rolling the dice.
1. The player rolls two dice and moves their token clockwise accordingly.
2. Depending on the space landed on:
- Unowned Property: You may purchase it for the listed price.
- Owned by another player: Pay rent to the owner.
- Your own property: You may choose to upgrade it by paying the upgrade cost.
- Event space: Draw an Event Card and follow its instructions.
- Special spaces: Follow the directions (e.g., audit, market crash, etc.).
Each property has a purchase price, rent value, upgrade cost, and special feature. Owning multiple properties of the same type may provide bonuses or increased income.
- Data Breach Crisis: Lose 300 TC, or only 150 TC if you own a Cybersecurity Firm.
- Venture Capital Investment: Gain 1000 TC (+500 TC bonus if you own 2 AI companies).
- Government Regulation Compliance: Pay 200 TC unless you own a Legal Department.
- Tech Bubble Burst: All players lose 10% of cash (5% if owning AI/Blockchain assets).
- Industry Breakthrough: Gain 500 TC from all tech assets (+250 TC if owning Quantum Center).
A player is bankrupt if they cannot pay rent or debt. They are eliminated from the game, and their assets are sold or transferred to creditors.
The game ends when:
- Only one player remains (others are bankrupt); or
- A set time limit is reached: the player with the most TC and assets wins.
