TEA @ UNC is where Carolina students go from simply loving theme parks to learning how to design the worlds behind them. As the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill's official chapter of Themed Entertainment Association (TEA), we connect students with the global network of professionals who create attractions, resorts, museums, and immersive experiences around the world.

Founded by Jax McGuire and Grant Sizemore, TEA @ UNC was created to fill a gap on campus. While UNC has never offered a major or minor in themed entertainment, its students and alumni have become Disney Imagineers, Universal Creative designers, architects, engineers, producers, and entrepreneurs across the industry. The passion was always here—the community just hadn't found each other yet. So we built it.

As a member of TEA @ UNC, you'll tackle real design challenges by creating and pitching original attraction concepts, learn directly from industry professionals, travel to experiences and conferences like IAAPA Expo, and build a portfolio and professional network that prepares you for internships and careers in the industry.

Success in themed entertainment isn't built on a résumé alone—it's built through experience, collaboration, and connections. TEA @ UNC allows students to develop all three while they're still at Carolina, creating a pathway into one of the world's most creative and collaborative industries.
