What is Team SA?

Team SA is a volunteer effort to help young athletes achieve their fullest potential. Joining Team SA is FREE!

SA stands for "self-actualization."

Self-actualization is the process of personal growth and fulfillment of one's potential. For young athletes, this means developing their talents and abilities to the fullest, pursuing excellence, and finding meaning and purpose in their athletic pursuits. This concept was introduced by Abraham Maslow, a humanistic psychologist who proposed that self-actualization is the highest level of a hierarchy of needs that must be met to achieve personal fulfillment.

The logo is an "S" and "A" in a pyramid shape - symbolizing the hierarchy of needs suggested by Maslow.

Team SA's mission is to support young athletes in fulfilling their potential through the sport of wrestling by cultivating a growth mindset, a relentless work ethic, and physical fitness.
