Middle school and High school aged adolescents that have been living with Type 1 Diabetes for at least 6 months. Your family will also participate in the research study.
Half of the volunteers (and their families) will participate in online/virtual groups every 3 months with other middle schoolers. The other half of the volunteers will continue with their current standard medical appointments. This is called randomization. All volunteers will be asked to answer surveys before and after appointments. You might also use Shared Decision-Making worksheets that help guide and choose topics that are most important to you during your appointment. Your participation will last approximately 15 months.
All volunteers are able to get up to $170 worth of gift cards.
