Would you like to learn strategies to improve your teaching?
The idea of this workshop is to introduce teaching methods to PhD students and Post-Docs. Your current positions rarely include much teaching, but it is possible that you will soon take on teaching roles (lecturers, AEP lecturers etc). In terms of teaching training, it is most often offered College-wide, while a lot of the teaching methods are discipline dependent. This can make trainings tedious for future mathematics and theoretical physics lecturers who have to sit through conversations about essay assignments.
Workshop speakers are maths and physics lecturers (some of whom you probably know!). They are all great teachers that have thought about how to deliver a better lecture in practice. Teaching methods, general as well as specific will be discussed. The workshop is meant to be interactive; your active participation is encouraged!
