I didn't always love to teach math!
As an early career teacher (teaching Grade 3) I was often overwhelmed with the sheer volume of planning, organizing, teaching and marking for every subject. Math was easy in the beginning because I could flip open the textbook and keep on carrying on. Yesterday we did this page, today we'll do the next, and look at that...tomorrow is pre-planned on the pages after that!
Once I got a handle on basic teaching enough to pay more attention, I started to become aware of the diversity of students, and in particular learning with respect to math.
