Desmos Overview

The Big Question:

At the start of the pandemic when schools were being shut down and students were going home, teachers all had a similar question.

"How do you teach when your students are all home?"

This question has been answered with a multitude of online tools and resources designed for teachers. Although there are resources that do an outstanding job at educating students, we have found that nothing quite compares to Desmos.

What is Desmos:

Desmos is an online platform that allows students and teachers to explore mathematics through interactive tools. The focus of this website is to teach teachers how to use Desmos to improve their classes' focus, interaction, and experience with mathematics.

  • Students can work in groups or as individuals to learn and discover new elements of mathematics on an interactive explorative online platform.

  • Teachers can create their own lessons and monitor students’ progress as they work through the lessons.

  • Teachers can control the pace of the students and present student's work and responses in real-time.

  • There are lessons pre-created for all teachers, but a teacher can take the reigns and create something specific to their classes' needs.
