Continuous Improvement
SEPTEMBER 19, 2020
In this workshop, teachers will learn about the process of continuous improvement (CI), explore some of the tools that are at the heart of this approach, and have the opportunity to practice how to use these tools to monitor and improve classroom instruction, student learning, and professional practice. Through a variety of hands-on activities, participants will explore 1) the use of these tools to document and analyze instructional practice across a range of content areas, 2) the selection and implementation of practical measures to monitor and signal improvement, and 3) how to include students in the process of continuous improvement. By the end of the workshop, participants will have the opportunity to discuss how these tools can be used to support professional learning communities (PLC) and provide structure to ongoing learning efforts. The workshop is designed to explicitly forefront issues of justice, equity, inclusivity, and access.
