I love Kadir Nelson and I think this book is beautiful. One of the few pages that has a background scene is on page 11 and 12 pays homage to the artist Aaron Douglas. The Smithsonian has a few pieces of his work (including my favorite) and had a visiting collection come to the American Art Museum years ago.
