This is a screen capture video that I have made on a Phet simulation. This video can be used to help demonstrate to students how to use Phet. On this Phet I am using the Natural Selection simulation. I am using this to introduce the concept of natural selection to students.
In this technology tool, I used Edpuzzle to edit a Bill Nye video explaining wind and how wind is formed. I embedded 6 different short answer/multiple choice for students to answer as they watch the video.
Students were asked questions before the answer was given within the video. Hopefully this allows them to think about the question before they were directly given the answer.
8th grade Water Cycle Lesson Plan
Lesson Plan: Water Cycle
Above is an example of an technology tool integrated lesson plan. In this unit on the Water Cycle, students explored the concepts using a multitude of technologies but most notably using Foss Web Simulation and Jamboard.
Above is an 10th grade unit lesson plan and planning commentary on a melanin storyline adapted from Illinois Science Teaching Association. This unit's focal lense centers around melanin but explores biology concepts including genetics, inheritance, natural selection, protein synthesis, and DNA mutations. Minnesota state standards are followed but there is an emphasis on the New Generation Science Standards (NGSS).
