When lockdown policies went into effect in Vietnam at the end of March, The School of English & University Pathways (SEUP) at RMIT Vietnam swiftly moved all operations online with no access to campuses. Given the emotional and academic burden and potential longevity of the physically distanced situation, SEUP leadership began to explore how employee wellness could be optimized for both the short term and long term. At the same time, teacher-led wellbeing projects were beginning. These top-down and bottom-up initiatives were combined, and the SEUP Wellbeing Working Group was launched.
The Wellbeing Working Group of academic and local professional staff from all three campuses curates a Yammer community consolidating health and wellbeing, staff engagement, and community engagement. We are involved in the planning of Wellbeing and Engagement initiatives across campuses. The objective of the working group is to generate opt-in initiatives from and for teachers, professional staff, and management.
