This presentation will mostly focus on the development of teaching skills and expertise, and the teacher career journey of the presenter. The presenter will introduce what kinds of struggles he and his students experienced during emergency remote teaching (ERT) due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in this story will explain how they overcame those struggles by implementing typical and traditional methods in a creative style and finally developed a firm bond together. For example, the presenter will introduce a new educational practice of online feedback on students’ daily reflections which enhanced his feedback beyond what was possible in the typical classroom. The presenter will also introduce his past teaching experience in public schools and how this ERT affected his teaching style. Finally, the presenter will shed light on what is currently expected for university students to become more autonomous in this situation and will focus on how to create deep connections and build greater rapport with students. In the video, several class materials will be illustrated by the presenter to help the viewers understand more easily. The students in the presenter's classes are lower-intermediate level (A2 in CEFR) and most are in the first year of study at university.
