Seesaw began as a learning portfolio and has evolved to be a wonderful both at school and during home learning. Check out this overview and then head over to the website for another video on remote learning with Seesaw. It is a FREE tool, but some features are available in Seesaw Plus or Seesaw for Schools. I will try to distinguish these in my tips. If you would like to try Seesaw Plus, please reach out for a free code.
This video provides a brief overview of Seesaw creation and reflection tools. Seesaw provides extensive training materials right in the Training and Help Center. Check out videos there and then come back here to take it to next level!
Seesaw has an extensive Activity Library with hundreds (maybe thousands) of activities to assign to students. You can even edit these activities to make them work for your class! They have all been created by classroom teachers and are on a range of topics. Check out this overview video for more.
The free version allows for two co-teachers. In Seesaw Plus (5) and Seesaw for Schools allows you to have more. Here are some tips for those co-teachers and specialists to help them navigate and work within other classrooms.
When using Seesaw for students at home, you do NOT want students to be able to see each other's work. However, there may be things you want to share with the class. Turn on your BLOG for that capability. This allows you to select items that could be shared with others. Families can also share the BLOG with other family members if they want as well! This is a safe way to share work with each other that you have approved.
For those making Seesaw activities, you can insert pictures of the tools in your directions. It is just some simple coding and here is the document with that information! Also, someone else made a great video to share with students to help them with some of the features from the student perspective (parents may enjoy this as well)! Feel free to send this video to students.
