“Right Now” is for teachers who are ready to learn more about ABAR (anti-bias and anti-racist) work and are in the initial stages of their learning. It is likely that you self-identified with mainly 1s and 2s on the equity assessment, or that the statements in Ibrahim’s Fear Zone resonated with you.
“What’s Next” is for teachers who have begun to learn about ABAR work independently or through other resources and are ready to explore further. It is likely that you self-identified with mainly 2s and 3s on the equity assessment, or that the statements in Ibrahim’s Learning Zone resonated with you.
“Going Deeper” is the entry point for teachers who have been on the journey of ABAR work and are ready to continue to learn as they investigate larger scale actions. It is likely that you self-identified with mainly 3s and 4s on the equity assessment, or that the statements in Ibrahim’s Growth Zone resonated with you.
2. Begin exploring resources in the toolkit at your self-determined point of entry. The Initial Learning Resources are designed to meet you where you are. The Ongoing Learning and Further Action is intended to support you in moving along the continuum. You may find it most helpful to explore in the order that resources are presented, but there is no prescribed order to follow. In either approach, please keep in mind that this is ongoing work that must be continually revisited.
3. As you read, watch, and learn, please consider revisiting the continuum of change, reflecting on your thoughts and actions, and using the toolkit to help you dive deeper into educating yourself within the zone (by utilizing the Ongoing Learning and More Action category) or utilizing resources in another zone.
