Almería, September 2023
The final TEACH project meeting has taken place in late September 2023, from 25 to 29. These are some of the most interesting activities that have been carried out throughout the week.
Monday 25
The representatives of the Delegación de Educación in Almería organised a welcome reception at the Assembly Hall. They reminded the project partners that this is our first European experience within the framework of Erasmus+ association projects and expressed their hopes to continue working together in more associations. They also thanked CEP de Almería, our partners Estonia, Italy and Poland, and all the collaborating schools for having participated in this project. Finally, they insisted on the importance of this project insofar as it is creating networks to help many schools in our respective regions to become open, connected, internationalised schools.
Among those who attended the event, María Soto, inspector of education, gave an insight of what the General Inspection in Andalucía is doing for the internationalisation of the institution.
After breakfast, we met at CEP Almería and carried out a joint reflection on how the teacher training activities worked and how their findings were put into actual practice in the classroom.
Tuesday 26
In the second project meeting at CEP Almería, Alicja, from MCWE Opole, gave an unexpected, fascinating presentation on how to make didactic use of AI in the classroom. Then, Daniela and Vito, representating CESPED, showed the results of the TEACH survey from all four partner countries and opened up for a joint analysis. After breakfast, we arranged in mixed cooperative groups to design three end-of-the-project questionnaires to evaluate the results among the teachers who took part in the courses of the training itinerary.
In the afternoon, all the partners were taken on a cultural tour around the most historically relevant landmarks in the city of Almería.
Wednesday 27
This day was almost totally devoted to enjoying the cultural trip to Tabernas Desert, though it was followed by a late-afternoon work meeting to set the grounds for the forthcoming assessment session.
Thursday 28
After a long, fruitful work session in which the project was assessed from a methodological perspective, Javier García Blanca from CEP Almería gave an intense lecture on the work that is being carried in all the schools in Andalusia through the Equality Plan, and how it is implemented in our classrooms. It also allowed for some joint team reflection and gave way to proposals for the schools in the other partner countries.
We then had a brainstorming activity to put forward several options to apply for a follow-up cooperation project; partner schools from other countries such as Germany, Czech Republic, Hungary or Greece were considered. Finally, certificates of attendance were awarded to the participant partners and collaborating teachers.
The cultural activity for the afternoon was a visit to the Alcazaba of Almería, where the partners enjoyed a beautiful dramatisation of the history of the fortress and the city (see the photo carrousel below). A few hours later we had our traditional farewell dinner party.
Friday 29
The final project meeting in Almería ended up with a visit to IES Maestro Padilla and CEIP Mar Mediterráneo, where our partners were able to appreciate the kind of work carried out in projects on educational innovation. Particularly, María José Ferrer, coordinator of the bilingual and European programmes at IES Maestro Padilla, gave them a lecture on their Universo Mujer school project. They even tasted the olive oil produced in their own school orchard.
