On September 8, 2020, a red flag warning was issued in Southern Oregon for high, gusty winds. All it took was a spark and the deadly Almeda Fire growled to life in a field north of Ashland. That is where the nightmare began. The tiny flame became a raging inferno as the wind drove it north through the small communities of Talent and Phoenix to the edge of Medford. Thousands of people lost so much that day. In our family, it was five generations of family memories in a single trailer. This is our story.
