Tea Cupboard collects only the minimal information necessary to provide account functionality, cloud synchronization, and peer-to-peer sharing features.

A. Information You Provide Voluntarily

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address, profile/display name, and a unique account identifier generated via Firebase Authentication. This is used strictly for authentication, account security, and data recovery.

User-Generated Content: Any custom recipes, ingredient notes, or modifications you create and choose to save or sync are stored securely associated with your account identifier.

B. Information Shared Between Users

Tea Cupboard allows you to explicitly share recipes and ingredient profiles with other specific users. When you share content:

Your profile/display name is visible to the recipient.

Your email address may be visible to the recipient to verify the sender's identity.

Tea Cupboard does not publicly display or publish your email address to the general public.

C. Automatically Collected Technical Data

To maintain app stability, debug errors, and improve performance, our third-party infrastructure tools (such as crash reporting and diagnostic services that may be implemented in future versions of the application) may automatically collect certain non-identifying technical data when the app crashes or errors out, including:

Device model and operating system version.

App-specific performance metrics and crash logs.

IP addresses (utilized strictly for localized security and fraud prevention).

3. How We Use Information

We utilize the collected information strictly to:

Maintain, sync, and back up your user profile and custom recipes.

4. Third-Party Service Providers

Tea Cupboard relies on external platform services to provide core application functionality. These third parties handle data in accordance with their own respective privacy frameworks:

Distribution Platforms: Google Play Services, Apple App Store, Microsoft Store, and other application marketplaces may handle transaction metadata, downloads, installation information, and platform-specific analytics depending on the user's device and platform.

5. Lawful Basis for Processing (International & EU Users)

If you access the App from the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or similar jurisdictions, we process your personal data under the following legal frameworks:

6. Data Storage, Security, and Retention

Storage Location: Your information is stored and processed on secure cloud infrastructure managed by Google Firebase, primarily located within the United States. If you access the app internationally, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US.

Data Security: We utilize commercially reasonable administrative, electronic, and physical security measures provided by Firebase to protect your account data. However, no method of cloud storage or internet transmission is 100% secure; therefore, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Retention: We retain your account information and saved recipes for as long as your account remains active and for any additional period reasonably necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, or complete account deletion processes.

7. Account Deletion and Data Control

You retain full ownership and control over your data. You may permanently delete your account at any time directly through the Settings menu inside the Tea Cupboard application.

Upon account deletion:

Your authentication credentials and personal profile records are removed from active account services and deleted in accordance with our data management practices.

Your linked user data and private recipes are deleted or permanently anonymized within our active database.

Note: Recipes you have explicitly sent or shared with another user prior to deletion will remain accessible on that specific recipient's device/account, as they now form part of that user's local records. Tea Cupboard cannot retrieve, modify, or delete content that has already been delivered to another user prior to account deletion.

8. User Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction (such as California under the CCPA, or Europe under the GDPR), you may possess specific legal rights regarding your data, including the right to:

Request access to or a portable copy of the personal information we hold about you.

Request the correction of inaccurate or incomplete information.

Request the absolute erasure of your personal data.

Tea Cupboard is an educational utility not designed for or directed toward children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. As outlined fully in our Terms of Use, all information within Tea Cupboard regarding traditional botanical properties or recipes is for educational purposes only and does not constitute medical advice. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our app features or regulatory requirements.
