Hello and welcome to my digital portfolio! I have an immense passion for educating the whole child, advocating for arts program accessibility in public schools, community outreach, equity and representation. The following links include my work experience and samples of work.
Born and raised in San Diego, I have been working as an instructor, choreographer, and performer throughout the SD Dance Community for almost twenty years. A three-time graduate of San Diego State University, I have a BA in Communication Studies, my Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education and my Master of Arts in Teaching - Secondary Education with an emphasis in Dance Education.
I have taught and choreographed for various schools, studios and companies throughout Southern California such as the Steele Canyon High School Dance Team, CSULB PAC Modern dance team, Escondido High School Dance Team, Helix Charter High School, Lemon Grove Academy Middle School, the San Diego Sirens, I was the founding director for the San Diego Guardian Angels, and the former head coach of the San Diego Strikeforce Dance Team in their 2020 season. Additionally, I was an Outreach Teaching Artist for Malashock Dance Company and Arts 4 Learning. This program allowed me to facilitate arts integration classes for schools in the San Diego Unified School District for grades K-8. Examples of the program include Math in Motion - a curriculum designed to implement math concepts to movement principles, and Arts Integration in which I focused lessons to mirror literacy standards in ELA curriculum.
I have previously been on staff for companies such as Culture Shock Training Academy, formally Culture Shock Dance Center, Academy of Performing Arts San Diego - APA, Prodigy Dance Company, and Touch of Class Dance Academy. I was a member of the Leadership Tools for the Dance Leader Kappa cohort under Kaba Modern founder, Arnel Calvario in 2022. In September 2025, I received a seat on the Culture Shock San Diego Board of Directors.
As a devout arts educator, advocate and change maker in the San Diego dance community for over two decades, I am committed to developing engaging learning experiences in the classroom that are empowering, inclusive and where all learners can feel seen and heard. I am passionate about mentoring students, facilitating a path for students to learn authentic expression and preparing them in any capacity for their bright futures. I most recently received the 2025 Friends of East County Arts Teacher of the Year Award for Performance Arts. I am currently closing out my fifth year as the Director of the Dance Department at Valhalla High School in El Cajon, Ca.
