Pasi Sahlberg is Professor in Educational Leadership at the University of Melbourne, Australia. His previous positions include classroom teacher in Helsinki, teacher educator at the University of Helsinki, and leader of curriculum reforms and teaching methods development at Finland’s National Agency of Education. He has worked as senior education specialist at the World Bank and the European Commission, and as visiting professor at Harvard University. Pasi works with teachers, schools, and education systems, and has advised governments around the world to transform schools for the future.
He is a recipient of the 2012 Education Award in Finland, the 2013 Grawemeyer Award in the U.S., the 2014 Robert Owen Award in Scotland, the 2016 Lego Prize in Denmark, and the 2021 Hedley Beare Award in Australia. Pasi has given over 500 keynotes around the world and authored over 20 books, including “Let the Children Play: How more play can save our schools and help children thrive” in 2019, and “In Teachers We Trust: The Finnish Way to world class schools” in 2021. He lives with his family in Melbourne, Australia.
Professor Dato’ Dr. Mohammad Fauzan Noordin received his Ph.D. from the University of Wales, U.K.1997; MBA from the CentralMissouri State University, U.S.A. 1991; and B.Sc. (Computer Science) from the University of Missouri Kansas City, USA 1989. He isProfessor in Knowledge Technology at Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, International Islamic University Malaysia. His book entitled “ICT and Islam” has been used as the textbook in several universities and printed for second edition.
Within just over a decade, his career has spanned far and wide. Currently, he is the Head of ICT and Islam Research Cluster; he was the Dean of Center for Postgraduate Studies, IIUM (2012-2013). In 2004, he was Visiting Scholar at University of Bahrain (2004-2005) and Jazan University, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (2010-2011). Besides these, he is an appointed and has been a member of the research panel for the Research Grant at the Ministry of Science Technology and Innovation since 2005, a Panel Thinker for National Dakwah Policy of Malaysia, Adjunct Professor at University Islam Sultan Sharif Ali, Brunei Darussalam (2017-18). Adjunct Professor, at Swinburne University Technology Sarawak Branch (2019-20), Member of Majlis Syura Kerajaan Negeri Pulau Pinang, Majlis Agama Islam Pulau Pnang (2019-20).
Previously, he was Dean of Office Corporate Strategy and Quality Assurance (2011-2012), Director of the Centre for Collaborative Technology (2009-2010), IIUM Director for Information Technology Division (2001–2004), Director for Centre for IT Advancement (2004), and Director for Center for Excellence in Continuing Education E-Learning (C-ExCEL) (1999). He was Co- Founder MyAis (Malaysian Association Information System). He specializes in Knowledge Technology, Management Information System (MIS), ICT and Islam, Social Networking, Cloud Computing, E-Banking, Knowledge Management and Wisdom in ICT. In terms of publishing; he has contributed more than 100 books, chapter of the books and articles in various local and international journals. His research on Multilingual Search Engine and Retrieval System won the Best Research for University level 2009 and 2 Silver awards at the International Invention and Technology Exhibition 2009. He has often been invited by national TV and Radio stations and interviewed by national newspapers as an expert on ICT issues.
