History

To improve on the performance of the HB9CV DF Antenna which also build as a TDARC club project many years ago.

Although I won the DF a few times in the past, I never got on with the Club's HB9 DF antenna over the past years, often not even able to find the fox!!

Purpose

I wanted a better null and also a little higher gain and the club talk by G3ZOI earlier this year inspired me to built/copy this design

Functionallity

A bonus is using the flexible elements! This means the antenna elements can be folded up and pushed quickly into the car boot.

Performance

I just so happened that I came first at this years TDARC DF contest, finding the fox within 18 minutes of the first transmission. No doubt there was an element of luck however the minimul from this antenna was very sharp!!

Watch out!!

Be prepared to explain to the XYL why you cut up a NICE looking tape ruler for the elements!! (Mine was £1.99 Made in China bought from Knee's store in Trowbridge).

Constructional article: See G3ZOI website!http://www.open-circuit.co.uk/home.php

I simplified the Antenna mounting. See photo attached. The plastic Plastic 20mm clamps are purchased from Wickes
