Introduction
TTT Rating System (a replica of TTCAN Rating System) keeps track of AB players' ratings changes when the players play in recent and going forward, future TTT tournaments.
This is needed because AB tournaments are not to be sanctioned by TTCAN in the foreseeable future, and therefore, TTT tournament results will not be forwarded to TTCAN for ratings calculation purposes.
As a service to TTT tournament participants, TTT Rating System will process the results instead, and perform the same ratings calculations.
Viewing a player's rating
When not in a tournament environment
Menu - Player Info :
Explore using different "Search in" options to find players in specific or all provinces.
This will give the current rating of searched players.
[The current rating may be different than those in previous tournaments]
[Gives you a list of players satisfying the search criteria]
When in a tournament environment. That is, when you had done Menu Tournament Select and select a tournament first. Now, all the ratings mentioned would be from the set of ratings used for that tournament.
Menu - Player Info :
Same as above.
Menu - Reports - Player Results :
Displays a player's details first, and then all the results (with rating points exchanged) for each rated match in the tournament.
Menu - Reports - Player Registration :
Displays a player's registration details (must know the password used to access it).
What is "Period"?
Just a number to indicate when the rating was calculated.
TTCAN uses a simple number that is incremented when a calculation is done, usually every month.
TTT uses a different number formatted as YYMM when a calculation is done, again usually every month in step with TTCAN.
A special period of 0 means that the player is a new player participating in the TTT tournaments.
In general, Period and Cycle mean the same thing.
How to read Player Results?
Step 1.
Confirm the player's name so as to get details of the player.
The Rating field has the rating for the player at the start of the tournament.
Step 2.
Click Show Results so as to get the points exchanges for all rated matches for the player in the tournament.
Each match will have a winner and a loser, and the winner gets WinnerPX points, and the loser gets LoserPX points (which is zero or negative). The player's points exchanged are highlighted in "red".
Step 3.
The Adjustment line shows the player's won/loss points exchanged.
Expected rating is calculated using the following formulae.
ExpectedRating = StartingRating + AdjustmentWinnerPX + AdjustmentLoserPX.
The result of the calculation will be the player's rating for next cycle's tournament(s). Provided that the player doesn't play in any other tournaments during this cycle.
If the player do play, during this cycle, in other tournaments, the player's rating for next cycle will probably be the summation of the changes for the tournaments.
Special Handling of TTT updates?
Case 1: non AB players
Players from other provinces participating in TTT tournaments WILL NOT have their TTCAN nor TTT ratings updated.
Basically, all TTT tournaments are Non Rated. There is no collection of rating fees at all.
TTT will not manage non AB players ratings.
TTCAN will continue to manage non AB players, but we will not submit non AB players' matches to TTCAN.
Case 2: AB players playing in TTCAN sanctioned tournaments
Match results from those tournaments will be sent to TTCAN by the tournaments' organizers.
AB players' match results will be processed against the player's TTCAN ratings and their ratings updated appropriately.
But those ratings are typically out of sync with their TTT ratings.
Instead, TTT will take the increase or decrease between a player's TTCAN latest rating and his/her immediate previous rating.
For example, for 2024 May cycle of TTCAN (period 398), two AB players participated in a sanctioned tournament.
Before the tournament on TTCAN, the players' rating were:
2414 for Jason on period 397,
900 for Jesse on period 392.
After the tournament on TTCAN, the players' ratings became:
2432 for Jason on period 398,
991 for Jesse on period 398.
Thus, the increase for the players on the TTCAN side for that tournament:
18 points for Jason, and
91 points for Jesse.
And for the TTT 2405 cycle, the players' ratings were calculated as:
2453 for Jason, and
953 for Jesse.
Taking the increases from TTCAN, the players' TTT ratings are adjusted to:
2471 for Jason, and
1044 for Jesse.
This might seemed to be quite complicated, but if you look at TTT and TTCAN are two different systems handling different tournaments, and whatever is updated on TTCAN, differences will be calculated and transferred to TTT, the complication is quite reasonable.

Previous Notices
2025 Feb. 18 Notice:
TTT Ratings System will become history. It started at the start of 2024.
From here on in, TTT tournaments will be sanctioned by TTCAN again, and sanctioned tournament results will be submitted to TTCAN for processing.
Expect to see your Mar. 2025 ratings adjusted as per TTCAN (if you had played in 2025 CUSTTA Team Open).
-----------
Your TTT Ratings WILL NOT be recognized by TTCAN, so every player will basically start fresh again with TTCAN.
For existing TTCAN players, your ratings will be back to the start of 2024. Unless during the year, you had participated in other TTCAN sanctioned tournaments, thus your ratings would be adjusted accordingly.
For newer players that are never in the TTCAN system, you will become a "temporary" player in the TTCAN system the next time you play in any TTCAN sanctioned tournaments.
The TTT ratings that you had obtained will become your estimated ratings for any TTT tournaments for grouping purposes only.
"Temporary" players will have their ratings adjusted in a rather complicated manner. Once the required number of wins and losses are obtained, they will be promoted to "regular" players.
2024 Mar. 15 Notice:
The new TTT Ratings System is now operational.
It will be used for current and future tournaments.
It had also been retroactively applied to 2023 CUSTTA Open and 2024 CUSTTA Team Open.
For more detail about the TTT Ratings System, please visit the "TTT Ratings System" page from the left side panel link.
