THE LOSS OF A CHILD

COMPARES TO NO OTHER

Grief is a difficult, and often lonely, journey. While any loss is challenging, the loss of a child compares to no other.

The incomprehensible death of a child is a life-long journey of the hardest grief work. It is a healing process that requires ongoing support, understanding, and friendship from those who have been there. The Compassionate Friends offers these supports, but most of all, they offer hope that recovery is possible.

The Compassionate Friends was formed by and for parents whose children have died. While family, friends, and professional resources can be helpful, The Compassionate Friends provides much-needed mutual support and understanding for bereaved parents.

Although no two grief journeys are the same, bereaved parents have a powerful bond through the shared experience of enduring child loss. Only other bereaved parents can come close to understanding the agony. Each parent must find their own way through grief, yet bereaved parents can come together to help each other toward a positive reconciliation of their grief.
