NEW HAMS

- Come to local events like the monthly TCARA meetings, hamfests and ARRL Field Days and talk to licensed hams. Monthly club meetings are the first Tuesday of the month at 7pm. See the website for more information and talk to one of our Elmers. Elmers are mentors who have volunteered to help with new hams (see list below).
- Prepare for the Technician exam. There are many resources online and study books you can use to study.
- TCARA offers the exam locally a few times a year. We are currently working on a schedule. Please check back. Questions can be sent to tcara-ve@googlegroups.com.
- When you're licensed, build or purchase a radio. Talk to other hams about what they have and what you want to do to find the best options. See list of Elmers (mentors) below.
