Teoría para Colisiones Atómicas y Moleculares
TCAM group is located at the Department of Chemistry of Universidad Autónoma de Madrid
The research carried out in our group is organized around two lines:
Development of theory, methods and codes to study ion-atom and ion-molecule collisions.
Most of the research deals with the use of the molecular method to describe the collisional event (which may include vibrational excitation, electronic excitation, charge transfer and ionization) at low and intermediate energies (from meV/u to keV/u).
Classical mechanics is also employed to study electron capture and ionization from medium to high energy collisions.
Application to the calculation of cross sections.
These developments are applied to the calculation of cross sections and rates of interest in several fields, including astronomy, fusion research, cancer therapy.
A list of systems studied is detailed in this link
