It's great to have you with us on our mission to Create Healthier Minds. You might have a reason for wanting to contribute to our mission, so If you're preparing to join our organisation, we look forward to hearing your story.
We're equally excited and grateful if you are a student who chose us for work experience.
Volunteering is a great way to make use of spare time and make a difference somehow. Lots of people volunteer in the UK for other well known charitable organisations such as SHOUT, and everyday they are helping make our island a bit nicer by gifting their time.
We are very keen on keeping voluntary time from your personal commitments, so we ask volunteers to keep us updated with their availability and unavailabilities.
We're not really keeping score of anything, but we do ask volunteers to use our Time Tracking form to track their voluntary contributions. We use Tracked Time for monitoring availability, work experince hours, and references for employers.
We have a guideline of hours we request of volunteers, but these aren't something you have to stick to. Take Back Your Mind UK asks its volunteers to contribute 4-8 hours a month, if they can. If you can't, don't worry.
If you think you're going to be unavailable for a period of time, alert your department manager. This allows us to reallocate tasks and resources (volunteers) to ensure there are no bumps in productivity.
We'll ask you your availability to volunteer when you complete some documentation. If this changes, let us know so we can remain mindful of respecting your commitments.
