Teddy Bear Hospital UCLA is a student-led chapter of Teddy Bear Hospital USA, a nonprofit organization dedicated to reducing children’s fear of healthcare through interactive and educational experiences.

Our chapter brings this mission to the UCLA and Los Angeles community by creating welcoming, child-friendly environments where children can learn about healthcare through play. At Teddy Bear Hospital events, children bring a stuffed animal through a mock “hospital” where they participate in interactive stations designed to introduce healthcare concepts in a fun and approachable way.

Through these experiences, we aim to help children feel more comfortable with doctors, hospitals, and medical procedures while encouraging curiosity about healthcare and science.

As a growing chapter, we are actively working to expand our outreach and build meaningful connections with community partners so that we can continue creating positive early experiences with healthcare for children.

Teddy Bear Hospital USA is a nonprofit, undergraduate-led organization that works alongside medical and allied health students to support communities through pediatric health education.

The program uses stuffed animals and mock hospital experiences to help children understand what happens during doctor visits and medical procedures. By creating a relaxed and engaging environment, Teddy Bear Hospital aims to reduce anxiety around healthcare while also inspiring interest in medical careers.

In addition to supporting children and families, the program provides student volunteers with opportunities to develop important pediatric communication skills and experience teaching health-related topics in a child-friendly way.
