There's much to learn about me, but here's my top ten facts to get us started:
I am joining forces with Alison as a new learning specialist who will serve the middle and upper schools at Moses Brown.
I am a Rhode Island native (I grew up in Pawtucket and I currently live in Providence).
I attended URI for my undergraduate degree. I double-majored in Secondary Education and English with two minors in Women's Studies and Writing and Rhetoric. I also participated in the Talent Development Program, the Honor's Program, and was a Fulbright Summer Institute participant in Nottingham, England.
This past summer, I just finished my MA at Rhode Island College in the ASTL Program.
I am a former AmeriCorps member by way of City Year Providence (corps year of '15 and '16) and Teach for America Rhode Island (corps year of '17).
I have served the Providence community for seven years (this includes five years of teaching at Mount Pleasant High School).
I am a board member of the Rhode Island Writing Project.
I am a cat-mom by choice.
I am often caffeinated thanks to Seven Stars Bakery.
I believe everyone can learn so long as they are given access to the supports they need to be successful and have a strong connection to someone within their learning community.
