My name is Tapas Barman, and I am from Cooch Behar, West Bengal, India — a place also known as the City of Beauty. I am currently working as a Junior Resource Person-II (Academic) for the Sanskrit Language at the National Translation Mission, Central Institute of Indian Languages (CILL), Mysuru, Karnataka, India, a position I have held since 31st July 2025.
I hold a Master’s degree in Sanskrit Literature from A. B. N. Seal College (Victoria College), affiliated with Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University, followed by an M.Phil. degree from Visva-Bharati University. Additionally, I have submitted my Ph.D. thesis to Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University for the award of a doctoral degree. I also qualified the UGC-NET with JRF (June 2015), conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC), India. Professionally, I served as a Visiting Faculty in the Department of Sanskrit at Cooch Behar Panchanan Barma University during two terms: from 18th August 2022 to 14th March 2024, and again from 20th August 2024 to 31st December 2024.
